Only 10 minutes ride north of Durban city in South Africa's seaside holiday mecca, we are not on the beachfront itself, but a quick 5km drive (see map below) will get you there. Centrally situated in the leafy suburb of Parkhill, a part of the secure, upmarket Durban North area, we are one of the easiest places to find. Just a single turn off the N2 freeway brings you virtually straight to us. 15 minutes drive from the King Shaka International Airport, and within 5-10 minutes of the major shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, banks & entertainment destinations.
For serious shoppers, Gateway Mall is a short hop up the freeway (15min) & both Casinos are equally nearby. Sportspeople : ALL arenas are within 10 minutes drive (see more below) .

We have 2 suites (Best Value) for singles/couples, a 4-to-6 sleeper cottage (426), and a 6-to-8 sleeper (628). These can sleep a maximum of 16 guests as singles. Maximum couples is 7 if privacy is essential. Every bedroom has a bathroom en-suite, and one of the bathrooms in 628 cottage is being fitted to be wheelchair-friendly by November. Hot water is guaranteed. Please see full descriptions of Units under “Price & Availability” below. Cottages can be configured for couples or singles throughout – so feel free to supply group breakdowns when asking for quotes. DSTV access is coming!
Standard price per person per night is from R150 up to R300, depending on the season/demand, size of group etc. In times of high demand, our prices will tend to the upper end of the range & naturally to the lower end during off-peak/low demand.
NB: To qualify for the lowest rate of R149.90 per person, please book at least five guests in a cottage for at least two nights off peak/midweek (eg Monday – Thursday nights), not weekends & high season. Fully equipped for self-catering & includes all FRESH linen/bedding, cutlery and crockery. Please bring own towels, soaps, paper & all consumables. Pick ‘n' Pay Hyper/Checkers/Spar all nearby – under 10 minutes drive.

We are also not far at all from the more luxury & pricey destinations of Virginia, Glenashley, La Lucia & Umhlanga Rocks. A short hop up the freeway will get you to other coastal resort areas like La Mercy, Ballito and Zinkwazi Beach.

You may encounter signs of minor landscaping work at NORTH LODGE COTTAGES. You will not be affected as pathways and interiors are in order. If you are saving the planet by using public transport, well done! and you will be happy that we are right on the bus/rail route to the City, Ushaka Marine, ABSA Sharks Stadium, Moses Mabhida, Kingsmead Cricket, Kings Park Swimming Pool, Durban Station & Main beaches. The more adventurous can leave the car & ride if you want.

We are well set back from the road up a long driveway, & there is plenty of safe parking on the site. Vehicles can park right alongside the units virtually under your window. The area is safe & under 24 hour supervision by the owner. So lock up & explore Durban without worrying about your stuff. The local Police Station is less than 300 meters away.
