Vacation Rentals in Costa Dorada, Spain

The Costa Dorada, or Spain's “Gold Coast” is a 200km stretch of land situated on the eastern side of Spain. It extends from the northern city of Barcelona to the southern city of Tarragona in the region of Catalonia.

This area has became popular after the opening of the major theme park, Port Aventura. Only 1 hour from Barcelona, the theme park is divided in to five “worlds” – Far West, China, Mediterranean, Polynesia and Mexico. It also has three themed hotels and an exciting all weather water park.
Although, not to be overlooked are the seemingly endless miles of golden sandy beaches that makes this Costa a destination designed to please everyone from the young to the elderly. Add to this the sunny temperate climate and you can see why many people come back to this area again and again.

The endless golden sands and safe, shallow shoreline make Costa Dorada the ideal destination. Mostly loved by families with young children. Here, family entertainment consists largely of relaxing by the shallow, calm sea, ideal for the bucket and spade brigade, and the large theme and water parks.

For those looking for a more sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere, Stiges is bound to please. Whilst there we recommend you sample the local Catalan delicacies many of which are based on locally caught fresh fish.

Within the main regional city of Tarragona, is an important army base that dates back to the Roman times. Today, Tarragona boasts historical ruins and a variety of museums to suit those who wish to soak up some rich history and culture. Excursions inland include vineyards, olive groves and almond plantations. You can take in the medieval city of Montblanc with its fine Gothic church or the interesting monastery ruins dating back to the 12th century at Poblet.

Cambrils, the most southern resort is still a typical Spanish fishing town. Narrow cobbled streets, traditional tapas bars, and original ancient buildings are a small part of this charming area. Take the opportunity to eat in world-class seafood restaurants whilst watching across the quay as the boats bring home the catch of the day.

The nightlife in Salou is one of the liveliest of all the Spanish coastal resorts. Salou is recognised as the regional capital city with its traditional flamenco, Mexican meals, karaoke and all-night clubs. This is not the place to come if all you are looking for is traditional Spain, but if you're looking for the holiday spirit that comes with all the entertainment available on your doorstep, then Salou's the perfect place for you.

With all this on offer to you and your family, along with the regions welcoming, informal and relaxed atmosphere, The Costa Dorada is a holiday no-one should miss out on.
